Dr. Joseph Gailani, PhD
RESEARCH HYDRAULIC ENGINEER
Dr. Gailani’s research interests include cohesive sediment processes, sediment transport modeling, dredged material management, beneficial use of dredged material, and evaluation of contaminated sediment sites. Recent EWN-associated research includes developing sustainable dredged sediment management practices which support habitat diversity and flood risk management. He is the focus area lead for the Sediment and Dredging Processes focus area in the USACE Dredging Operations and Environmental Research (DOER) Program. He received his doctorate in Mechanical and Environmental Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
