Their projects, intended to mimic local habitats, have served as a foundation for EWN principles. Over the past decades, the sites have not only thrived but have also exceeded expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/ewn.erdc.dren.mil\/people\/profile\/jacob-berkowitz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jacob F. Berkowitz, Ph.D.<\/a>, and his team from ERDC revisited these historic projects to assess multidecadal changes in soils, bird life, and plant communities.
