Nethmi Silva is a Ph.D. candidate and graduate research assistant at the University of Oklahoma, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering in the Civil Engineering and Environmental Science Department. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering and a master’s in Geotechnical Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Her current research focuses on exploring nature-based solutions to improve levee slope stability, aiming to enhance infrastructure resilience against environmental challenges. By integrating native vegetation and soil reinforcement, her work seeks sustainable, eco-friendly alternatives to traditional engineering approaches, offering cost-effective solutions for levee slope stabilization.
