Ms. Hamor began her career at Norfolk District in 1993 as a Co-op student while completing her B.S. in Civil Engineering at Old Dominion University. Ms. Hamor began in the Technical Support Section of the Waterways and Ports Branch, now Operations Branch, managing permit applications for Federal Navigation projects. In 1999, Ms. Hamor moved to the newly created Geospatial Services Section. In addition to creating a mountain of storyboards in for Congressional visits and supporting the Chesapeake Bay Program Oyster Restoration in Tangier/Pocomoke Sounds and on Great Wicomico River, Ms. Hamor worked closely with the Flood Plain Management Services Section on Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Insurance Studies. In 2007, Ms. Hamor joined the Flood Plain Management Services Section, becoming Chief of the section in 2011. In 2021, Ms. Hamor was selected as Chief of Planning and Policy Branch. Ms. Hamor enjoys working closely with project delivery teams to recommend solutions to challenging water resource problems in the Commonwealth and the nation.
Ms. Hamor and her husband, Paul, enjoy homesteading and hopping on the tractor as often as they can. They have two children and two grandchildren.
Ms. Harmor serves as the point of contact for the Norfolk District’s Engineering With Nature (EWN) Proving Ground—part of a USACE network advancing the integration of EWN principles by implementing innovative approaches for broader adoption.
