The Great Lakes Engineering With Nature (EWN) Playbook Workshop, hosted by the ERDC EWN Program and supported by the USACE Chicago District, brought together experts from government, academia, and private industry to discuss coastal resilience strategies. Over two days, participants shared insights on Natural and Nature-Based Features (NNBF) and Multiple Lines of Defense (MLD) to address coastal challenges unique to the Great Lakes. The event built on previous workshops and a virtual session, ensuring a collaborative approach to refining the playbook. Moving forward, the playbook will be developed further, with USACE districts testing NNBF/MLD concepts and integrating findings into broader coastal resiliency planning.
