Bio

Krystyna Powell is a Research Biologist in ERDC Environmental Laboratory’s Coastal Ecology team with experience in ecological modeling and field studies in coastal habitats. She has developed models to understand how abiotic processes affect ecological systems and shape invertebrate communities. She received her MS in Biological Sciences from Florida Atlantic University in summer of 2020, where her research centered around community dynamics of red mangrove aerial root habitats. Krystyna has experience in database management and developed tools focused on opportunities for beneficial-use of dredged material and natural infrastructure. Krystyna also has a background in modeling risk of marine bioinvasions.
