Bio

Nicholas Muzia, PE, holds a B.S. in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. Initially a mechanical engineer designing offshore diving equipment and submersibles, and later assisting his family’s construction company in civil engineering, he pivoted to environmental engineering after observing damaging effects on his local estuary. As the Principal Engineer and Design Build Manager Sea & Shoreline, LLC, Nicholas specializes in sustainable shoreline and stormwater design, construction, and management, leveraging expertise in civil and coastal engineering, floodplain management, and natural systems. Applying Engineering With Nature (EWN) principles, he integrates natural processes into urban stormwater systems, earning the Florida Stormwater Association Excellence Award for outstanding commitment to stormwater management in 2023 for delivering environmental and community benefits. His passion for nature and problem-solving drives his focus on engineering with nature. A licensed professional engineer, Nicholas constructs and develops sustainable strategies to enhance water quality, habitat preservation, and ecological resilience.
