Project Information

Operational Beach Management Practices to Encourage Resilient Dune Development is a project designed to encourage consistent communication between the scientific community and coastal regulatory agencies to ensure that best-performing methods of beach management are being executed. Given the variability in beach management practices and regulations from coastline to coastline, this study aims to consolidate this information and provide a platform in which management needs can be identified and innovative management methods can be investigated and implemented. Through the compilation of coastal management needs, follow up monitoring efforts can be established which will evaluate best-performing strategies in cost-effectiveness and sustainability, ultimately providing invaluable data that can provide guidance to update antiquated Engineering Regulations.
