Topic

Ecotoxic Metal Retention in Ecologically-Engineered, Passive Treatment Systems: An Engineering With Nature Application in Small Mid-Continent Watersheds

Water quality degradation due to past mining practices has led to substantial ecological damage in small watersheds of the Central United States. The University of Oklahoma Center for Restoration of Ecosystems and Watersheds (CREW) has led efforts to design, construct and evaluate passive technologies which promote specific, naturally-occurring, ecosystem-scale mechanisms to address contaminants of concern.
