EPM at Lake Red Rock–FY23 Ecological Monitoring Research Meeting

Purpose

Researchers from ERDC, Iowa State University, the University of Iowa, and Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) discussed their ongoing research focused on ecological monitoring of the benefits of Environmental Pool Management (EPM) at Lake Red Rock, Iowa.

On 8 February, a meeting was held at the Lake Red Rock Project Office in Iowa to provide updates of ongoing research covering 13 separate topics from sediment and water, to plants, and higher vertebrates.  Topics also covered plans for field sampling, project deliverables, and potential future research opportunities.  This meeting was attended by 23 participants, 18 in-person and 5 virtual, from the Rock Island District, Iowa State University, University of Iowa, Iowa DNR and the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC).
