Andrew McQueen, PhD

Bio

Dr. McQueen serves on the Risk Integration Team where he focuses on risk assessment and management of dredged material and invasive species, understanding fate and effects of chemical, physical, and biological exposures, and investigating ways in which sustainable environmental, social, and economic benefits can be incorporated into navigation and port infrastructure projects.

Dr. McQueen has published in the areas of aquatic and sediment toxicology, passive water treatment technologies, harmful algal bloom mitigation, dredging effects on the environment, and environmental risk assessment and management. He is an active member of the Western Dredging Association (WEDA), the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), and the International Navigation Association (PIANC), where he is the Principle U.S. representative to the PIANC EnviCom Working Group 226 on assessing adverse effects of underwater sounds to aquatic biota.
