EWN On the Road Again! The California Swing

Dr. Bridges is on the road in California and made several stops to consider opportunities to use nature-based solutions for flooding, drought, and other hazards, while also expanding the range of economic, environmental and social benefits that can be delivered through infrastructure investment. As we did last summer in the Heartland Tour, we’ve documented Todd’s visits with images and videos along the way. Explore six new stops to learn and be inspired, EWN On the Road.

Flood waters on Dos Rios Ranch Preserve (Source: River Partners). Holding water on the landscape offers abundant opportunities to make use of natural processes to simultaneously support flood resilience and groundwater sustainability. Spreading water over the land and under the land can be used to complement the function of dams and reservoirs.

The creative process involves seeing, perceiving, and conceiving.  I hope that through these travel blogs you’re able to experience some of the joy and learning that I experienced by visiting these places, people and projects.  Even more so, I hope that the shared images and reflections might kindle your creative process toward new solutions for people with nature.
