The EWN Initiative Receives a 2021 FOUR GEN Award

“Visionaries, wayshowers, and doers,” these three words were used to describe the Engineering With Nature Initiative and fellow recipients of the 2021 Four Generations of Leaders in Clean Energy and Sustainable Solutions Awards. The theme for the 8th annual celebration was Weaving the Web of Sustainability and Restoration. The FOUR GEN Awards spotlight people and groups spanning four generations working on diverse solutions to environmental concerns. An individual from Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z are awarded along with a lifetime awardee and two group awardees (including the EWN Initiative). Recipients are innovators sharing ways to make a big difference for the Earth and all who live here.

The EWN Initiative is specifically recognized for Ecological Infrastructure Solutions, using nature-based solutions to reduce impacts derived from more frequent and severe climate-induced hazards. “Their innovations simultaneously serve to sustain natural ecosystem functions and habitats while also expanding social benefits.”

Dr. Jeff King will represent the EWN Initiative to accept the award. Dr. King articulates the key elements of EWN, highlights the successful communication products that have aided the adoption of EWN principles, and drives home the value of partners across all sectors to advance practice and deliver sustainable infrastructure.

The virtual ceremony is planned for 3 Dec 2021 from 7:00-8:00 CT and is free to attend. Register Here.

The Four Generations of Leaders in Clean Energy and Sustainable Solutions Awards is hosted by Leaders in Energy, a nonprofit dedicated to building a network of multigenerational changemakers to accelerate clean energy and sustainability solutions for “The Big Green Shift.”
